Ra'Joune Dawson, who is known simply as Ray, brings a passion for athletics, Christian mentorship, and youth development to North Port Christian School. Raised in Pennsylvania, with roots in Philadelphia and Erie, Ray developed a lifelong love for sports through wrestling, football, track & field, and boxing. A high school wrestling state qualifier who went on to compete at the collegiate level, he spent years training and competing in highly competitive wrestling environments while developing the discipline, resilience, and leadership that continue to shape his approach to mentoring young people today.

In addition to his athletic background, Ray has been actively involved in street evangelism and community outreach, sharing his faith and serving people from diverse communities. These experiences strengthened his desire to invest in the next generation and help students develop strong character, purpose, and a Christ-centered foundation.

Ray currently holds a USA Wrestling Coaching Certification and is pursuing advanced coaching credentials at the high school and collegiate levels. He also serves in the U.S. Army Reserve and is pursuing pastoral licensing through Evangel University.

Ray is grateful for the opportunity to be part of the North Port Christian School family and looks forward to helping advance the school's vision by encouraging students to pursue excellence in the classroom, in athletics, and in their walk with Christ.
