DeAnn grew up in Indiana where she was very active in her home church and in her youth group, teaching Vacation Bible School, and serving the children in Sunday School. She met her husband while in college in Tennessee where she graduated with a BA in Early Childhood Education at Johnson Bible College. After graduation she and her husband moved to the mission field in Hawaii for 8 years working with 2 local churches. She also served alongside her husband in churches in Tennessee, Indiana and North Carolina.

DeAnn has taught in many Christian schools for over 40 years. She was blessed to adopt three children whom she homeschooled through graduation. During her teaching years she has taught every age level from preschool through 12th grade. She feels this gives her the advantage to understand what children need as they advance through the grade levels. She is excited to serve as the 1st grade teacher at North Port Christian School where she can encourage the students to grow in their understanding of God’s plan for their lives.
